ROGERS — With only three items on the agenda, the Planning Commission flew threw the agenda during Tuesday’s meeting.

The first item was a request by Mike and Mary Jo Green to allow them to run a bed and breakfast at 1020 W. Wallis Road, which is zoned agricultural. Commissioners quickly gave their approval, noting that the request is appropriate for the area.

The second request was by JJ’s Grill n ’ Chill at 4500 W. Walnut St. to operate a private club. The Planning Commission had approved numerous such requests, and this one proved no different. But Commissioner James Gosserand digressed briefly to question the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board’s granting of liquor licenses before the city awarded private-club status to the business.

The third item was a request by Bryan Ross to open a tattoo parlor at 1415 W. Walnut St. Although there are already two tattoo shops along that street, Commissioner Dan Brown said he was not in favor of the request.

Brown followed his brief assessment of the tattoo-shop request, however, by suggesting the commission table the item, as the applicant was absent from the proceedings. City staff said there was some question about Ross’ ability to secure a lease for his business, so the application may be withdrawn.
